Winner of seventeen Academy Awards, The Lord of the Rings was brought to the big screen by New Line Cinema and directed by Peter Jackson. Weta Workshop was intrinsically involved in the design and physical effects manufacture for all three films. Having raised a savage army of blood-thirsty warriors beneath his black tower, the fallen Wizard Saruman unleashes his wrath upon the people of Rohan. Ten thousand Uruk-hai, tall, long-limbed Orcs as straight-backed as men and unafraid of daylight, now march upon the fortress of Helms Deep. Weta Workshops high-quality Middle-earth collectibles are designed by the very same artists and technicians who work on our movies. It takes 400-500 hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work. No mindless Orc rabble, the Uruks are disciplined, ordered and deadly. Vastly outnumbering the Rohirrim, their mighty force is arranged in ranks, with specialised troops and uniform armour stamped out of black steel beneath Isengard. Leading each division are captains wearing helmets with unique crests. Crudely applied bands, handprints and skull-forms emblazon each helm; scarlet and white war paint beaming in the gloom for the troops to rally behind.
